About FSC
The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is an international, not-for-profit organization that has promoted responsible forest management for more than 30 years. Its balanced membership structure gives equal voice to environmental, social and economic interests.
FSC’s mission is to promote environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. Trusted by civil society, consumers and businesses, FSC helps protect healthy and resilient forests for all, forever.
Through independent third-party auditing and an integrated assurance system, FSC verifies responsible sourcing of forest products and ecosystem services across the value chain, from the forest to the consumer.
Globally, FSC covers more than 174 million hectares of certified forests, while over 70,000 companies hold Chain of Custody (CoC) certification. In Türkiye, approximately 14 million hectares of forest are FSC certified, giving the country Europe’s second-largest FSC-certified forest area. Around 1,000 companies in Türkiye hold FSC CoC certification—twice as many as in 2020—making Türkiye one of FSC’s fastest-growing markets worldwide.
